The History of Ballroom Dancing

Modern ballroom dancing can be traced to 15th century Europe. Royalty engaged in “court” dancing with dances such as the allemande and the minuet. The waltz followed in the mid 1700’s and endures to this day. In the early 1900’s ballroom split into two styles, one developed in America and one in England, however they remain quite similar.
